Narrows Too, Trenton, ME

We have always wanted to go to Acadia in Maine and since it’s a coastal area we decided to make Acadia this year’s beach vacation destination. Away camping we went to Narrows Too in Trenton Maine. This year was extra special because my parent’s finally joined in on one of our epic camping adventures! I booked one of the prime ocean view sites, 312. While my parents booked a tiny house on site.

Narrows Too is a clean but very basic campground. They do not have a playground but they did have a heated pool that my oldest spent tons of time in. There really were no other amenities or honestly things to do at this campground. We did find that we left Narrows Too each day to find things to do. The fact that it was so conveniently located was very helpful for this.

Sitting along the ocean here was so peaceful. At first I was nervous about this campground being so open but it works for this campground. At night there were no trees to block any of the stars. During the day you could see the ocean and mountains from most of the campground. With a bunch of trees for privacy you wouldn’t be able to experience this the same way.

A few different times I saw seals playing during high tide. There really wasn’t anything else for sea life though. We searched through the rock beach everyday looking for “pinchy crabs” or snails. Unfortunately the only thing we found was more rocks though. The rock beach was great for the RC trucks to crawl on.

Narrows Too is probably one of the best located campgrounds in the Acadia area. We found ourselves easily able to find things to do at the last minute when someone wanted to go somewhere. Just 2-3 miles from the campground is The Oceanarium and Education Center. They had a great nature walk outside as well as a few inside buildings with touch tanks for the kids. If you are looking for food because it’s raining and you don’t want to cook, there is a Lobster Pound right across the street.
